So great news to start this Blog post, the Wellness Champions in audio is out!!!

I have such a funny story to kick off this blog! So, while I was in the studio recording the audiobook for The Wellness Champions, I had to do the introduction—you know, the part where I introduce the book and say all my thank-yous.
Now, Dami Busari, who read the book, was so animated. Like, she completely brought the words to life. The producer looked at me and goes, “Maybe Dami should read everything.” EXCUSE ME?
I was like, “What are you trying to say?”
Even Dami was looking at me like, “This girl is reading the book better than you!” 😂 Of course, she’s a professional voice-over artist, but come on now—I wrote the book! I had to insist on reading at least the introduction.

Anyway, we had a blast, and now the *Wellness Champions* audiobook is OUT! I’m so excited! You can find all the details on where to get it HERE
Now, do you agree with my producer or not? Either way, today, I will be reading from The Wellness Champions myself. And as I read, I’ll also share some fun behind-the-scenes stories about how this beautiful book came to life.
So, are you ready? We’re diving into TWO amazing stories today:
- A playdate at Mrs. Dunbar’s home.
- An encounter with Kenne at the Lagos Island Market.
Playdate at Mrs. Dunbar’s House – Chapter Five: “This is Better Than Ice Cream”
Holidays were a big deal in my home, and if there was one thing my boys looked forward to the most, it was playdates! We moms had a whole system—we rotated houses, and it was always such a vibe for both the kids and the adults.
This time, it was happening at Mrs. Dunbar’s place, and the kids were buzzing with excitement. But here’s the twist—Mrs. Dunbar had a special treat up her sleeve: homemade popsicles!

One of the kids took a bite and was like, “Wow, this is really, really nice.” And then another one, little Miss Blessing (who, by the way, takes after her mom in speaking the biggest English), asked, “Did you make them or did you buy them?” 😂
Mrs. Dunbar just laughed and said, “Oh, I made them myself! They’re scrumptious because I packed them with dates, bananas, mangoes, strawberries, and avocado. I might’ve added a little honey too. Then, of course, I popped them into my popsicle molds and into the freezer—especially for my special babies, all of you!”
I had so much fun reading this chapter, and trust me, the stories get even better! Want to hear the full gist and the next one about Kenne at the Lagos Island Market?
