One of the more beautiful things about running a fitness company that is STEEPED in the WORD and Jesus, is how you start to find scripture coefficient for everything.

As CEO of the #JesusGirlsFitness brand, whenever I read my Bible, I see HEALTHY LIVING and FITFAM in many places many of us MAY not see.

I LOVE IT.

So today, I want to highlight two portions of scripture that really speak to me on FAVOR and how it can be applied to our fitfam journaaaaaaaaay

And I especially love this because it speaks to a situation I encounter again and again from squaddies…

When your fitfam journey is not getting the required support, whether at a basic or fundamental level, from your circle, both family and friends, OR it is straight up getting major hate and opposition, it can be a REAL PROBLEM

The truth is that this weight loss journey is not the easiest and while we can ride alone without support, that route is HARD. We need all the support that we can get, where we can get it.

Wives need support from hubby… PLENTY

Moms need the support of their kids… PLENTY

Kids need support from their parents… PLENTY

Chicks need support from their colleagues, friends and neighbors… PLENTY

So yes, we can be solo riders, crushing this thang on our own, but hey, this stuff is better when we have support.

However, I don’t want to look at it as just SUPPORT, I want us to look at it as FAVOR

Favor: Finding favor means gaining approval, acceptance, and/or special benefits or blessings from someone.

So on your fitfam journey, for instance, a wife needs the approval of her husband if she will enjoy and fully maximize the journey MOST OF THE TIME.

It can be real painful when your best efforts are unappreciated, insulted and/or sabotaged.

Sometimes, this happens even in loving atmospheres. Your husband always returns home with your greatest temptation and you find yourself falling and falling again, with a resolve to START AGAIN tomorrow, or next week, which NEVER comes, thanks to the loving sabotage of a sweet husband.

Yes, he loves you, but you need to lovingly teach him to express love in ways that help the journey…

Or it could even be an outright hostility. You KNOW you are FAT in an unhealthy way, but he wants you to stay that way because he loves the hips and boobs, BUT IT IS UNHEALTHY and frankly affecting your confidence and even your strength levels for your God-given assignments. Girl, you need FAVOR.

A wife enjoying favor from her husband can come as him deliberately not buying anything that would jeopardize the journey, but instead buying fruits, salads, healthy cereals and all instead.

He could even go a step further to ginger you to work out by working out with you, or just harassing you when you are tired ad about to skip it.

I have seen some husbands go as far as get the Nutrition Plan from their wives and make sure she is following it and not buying anything the Coach will not approve of…

That’s FAVOR, babes. If you enjoy that, give God praise for it. If you don’t, PRAY FOR IT.

A mom enjoying favor from her children can be direct or indirect.

If you have older kids, when they actually AGREE to eat what mommy is eating so you don’t have to cook various dishes or stress over meal time (which can affect your own personal commitment to your weight loss and its requirements), that is FAVOR.

If you have younger kids and babies, when your kids are cooperative, sleep when they should, cry only in permissible portions, are not overly clingy, and give you time actually to breathe, drink water, workout, enjoy reasonable sleep and more, so you can give the required attention, energy and time to your weight loss, MY SISTER, THAT IS FAVOR. It is worth praying for.

When your kids are enjoying good health, that is FAVOR (from God), as ill health is a major factor that lets moms stall or give up on their fitfam journey

When your colleagues and friends’ actually voice their support, encouragement, and even gift you things that would aid your fitfam journey, that is favor. It can be real frustrating when all they do is mock you for this new lifestyle and even continue to say directly, or insinuate, that you won’t last on the journey.

I recall I had a few friends put money together and gift me a skipping rope, dumb bells and exercise mat back then when my journey began. It was so thoughtful. I had others who would ALWAYS commend my efforts by commenting on my pictures, hailing me and encouraging me to keep going, even saying how my face was slimmer and all. Babes THAT IS FAVOR

FAVOR with friends is KEY too, even if mere acquaintances

You should even pray for favor with your domestic help. If you have someone who saves you time by actually doing her work, and can actually prep delicious fitfam recipes for you, that is FAVOR, my sister. You should PRAY FOR THIS. I had a Domestic Help who just rocked out all my fitfam recipes. She would even make suggestions for me and just made me enjoy the ride.

Favor with your parents, in-laws, grandparents, unties and generally older loved ones, would mean they cut out those snappy or uncomfortable remarks on how you look sick, not as pretty, or ‘one kain’ because you lost weight. Truth is, those things can make you start to second guess yourself, at least for some time. Anyways, I have also learned that usually, they have seen you a certain way for so long that anything different, even if better, is met with resistance. Plus, the older generation don’t even have time for this our fitfam journey and all. Either ways, when a loved one’s approval is important to you (not obsessive ooo), we can pray that we enjoy FAVOR with them, too.

Let me end by mentioning the two verses I talked about at the beginning

Now God had caused the official to show favor and compassion to Daniel, 10 but the official told Daniel, “I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your[c] food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men your age? The king would then have my head because of you.”

11 Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, 12 “Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. 13 Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see.” 14 So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days.

These verses clearly tell us that Daniel found favor with those in charge when it came to his diet.

This was NO MEAN FEAT. These officials could have been killed if they found out that some of the captive’s diet were compromised.

BUT, we see that Daniel showed tact and wisdom when he spoke to the officials.

There is a wisdom dimension to favor…

There is a way to speak… there is a way to appeal to the kind heart of anyone whose favor we need.

That is not for me to say, but for you and the Holy Spirit to figure out as you work with Him because we dont have the same husband, colleagues, mother in law or life.

And it is my prayer that we all download and apply that wisdom from source in Jesus name, amen

There is also a level of favor that just comes because God makes it happen, and that we see with Esther in Chapter 2

Esther also was taken to the king’s palace and entrusted to Hegai, who had charge of the harem. 9 She pleased him and won his favor. Immediately he provided her with her beauty treatments and special food. He assigned to her seven female attendants selected from the king’s palace and moved her and her attendants into the best place in the harem….

She really didn’t do anything special, she just won the attendant’s favor and he immediately gave her beauty treatments and special FOOD

And Esther won the favor of everyone who saw her. 16 She was taken to King Xerxes in the royal residence in the tenth month, the month of Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign.

17 Now the king was attracted to Esther more than to any of the other women, and she won his favor and approval more than any of the other virgins. So he set a royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.

We also see that everyone that saw Esther favored her, and so did the King and she was made QUEEN.

Mehn, talk about God giving a person favor with people who matter.

Don’t trivialize your fitfam journey, and now the FAVOR dimension to it.

Anything causing you stress, pray for FAVOR over it.

Even declare that you enjoy favor with those who you buy stuff from… they have or reserve a supply of fresh foods and fruits for you at pocket-friendly prices, they are willing to wait for you when you come in late, they find good deals for you, etx.

Dear Jesus Girls, lets grab favor everywhere that we can find it, and lets rock out our fitfam journey with passion until Jesus comes… AMEN

Favor to You
