The next film follows Teresa (Brbara Colen), who returns to the semi-arid Brazilian village of Bacurau, Sertobi, to attend her grandmother’s funeral. When she arrives, Teresa immediately realizes that Bacurau is in trouble. Basic services are missing, cell phone coverage is fading, clean water is clogged, and a truck carrying drinking water is coming through bullet holes. It soon becomes clear that the corrupt government has completely abandoned the people: Bacurau has not only been literally wiped off the map, but his citizens are also being attacked.
